Les faits divers du 7 février 2012
Deux personnes qui étaient à bord de deux kayaks au coin appelé Navire Cassée’ dans la region de Pointe d’ Esny, Blue Bay ont été secouru par un bateau de plaisance après un appel au 999 vers 1445. La National Coast Guard a été alerté.

1. Roche Bois Police – Serious Road Accident (Alleged Hit & Run)
On 07.02.2012 at 1346 hrs, Mr. J, 32 yrs, residing at Descarriers St, was found with multiple injuries lying on the road by the side of his bicycle along Roche Bois. He is admitted to ICU SSRN Hospital.
Note: According to information a P/van colour white of make & Reg. No. unknown knocked against victim and failed to stop.

2. La Ferme Police – Fatal Road Accident
On 07.02.2012 at 0620 hrs, the body of J, 23 yrs, residing at Reposoire was found with injuries lying in a gutter at Main Road, L’Autonomie by the side of his m/cycle. Circumstances of the road accident are so far unknown. Autopsy will be carried out today, 08.02.2012.

3. Report on difficulty at Sea
On 07.02.2012 at 1445 hrs, following a request on the 999 lines that two persons who were on kayaks were in difficulty at sea near ‘Navire Cassée’ in the vicinity of Pointe d’ Esny, Blue Bay NCG were directed thereat. Messrs. E, 31 yrs Mauritian national and M, 53 yrs, French National were rescued by a private pleasure craft and escorted ashore by NCG craft. They declined medical assistance.
4. NCG Flic en Flac – Difficulty at Sea
On 07.02.2012 at 1745 hrs, following a request on the 999 lines that a female person was in difficulty at sea at Flic en Flac, NCG were directed thereat. Miss N, 28 yrs, residing at Beaux Songes was found on the beach after she was removed from the sea by her relatives and conveyed to PMOC by SAMU.
Note: According to victim’s sister, Mrs. L victim went to sea under the influence of alcohol and had an epileptic fit.
5. Report on Arrest Goodlands Police & Terre Rouge Police
On 07.02.2012 at 0230 hrs, following an operation, Police Officers posted in Southern Division intercepted a m/cycle at Nouvelle France Round About and arrested (i) P, 37 yrs, no calling and (ii) N, 27 yrs, both residing at Mare D’Albert. The rider, N was injured after he fell down on the motorcycle and is admitted to J.N Hospital. Sentry placed. They were wanted in a case of Larceny of gold and silver which was being transported from SSRIA to Goodlands. Case reported at Terre Rouge Police.
In the course of the interrogation they confessed having committed the theft in company of (i) F, no calling, (ii) M, 23 yrs, salesman at A, both residing at Rose Belle and (iii) A, 41 yrs, self-employed, residing at Plaine Magnien and (iv) S, 39 yrs, residing at Mare D’Albert. The three accused have also been arrested and are detained.
